Energy Performance Certificates

Our friendly EPC assessors have a wealth of experience, providing home-owners, landlords and estate agents with Energy Performance Certificates.

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are needed whenever a property is:

• built
• sold
• rented
• being used to claim renewable energy incentives

You must order an EPC for potential buyers and tenants before you market your property to sell or rent.

An EPC contains:

• information about a property’s energy use and typical energy costs
• recommendations about how to reduce energy use and save money

An EPC gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and is valid for 10 years.

The Survey

During the survey the assessor will need access to all parts of your property he/she will be assessing and measuring:

At EPC Northants we aim to make the survey as quick and smooth as possible, it can help us speed up the process if you have:

• Documentary or photographic evidence of the date/age of building, extensions and roof rooms
• Heating system manuals.
• FENSA certificates for windows & Doors
• MCS Certificates for solar P.V
• Photographic or documentary evidence of retrospective insulation measures installed such as Floor insulation, Solid wall insulation, Room in the roof insulation, Flat roof insulation.

Post Survey

Once the survey is complete we will return to the office with the information gathered during the visit, we then process the information to create the EPC which we will send to you electronically within 48hrs of the survey.
